For the first time ever, The Drum has published a mid-year update to their World Creative Rankings of top agencies, brands, and campaigns, to provide a glimpse into the advertisers and agencies leading the way so far in 2024. We’re delighted to see three FCB agencies among the Top 20 Agencies; two campaigns in the mix of Best Campaigns; and three of our world-leading clients among the Top 20 Brands.
Some 1,106 campaigns from 732 advertisers working with 629 agencies have been analyzed to produce this mid-year report, with the rankings factoring in results from four of the six most-recognized annual awards competitions – Cannes Lions, D&AD, The Clio Awards, and The One Show.
In the agency and holding company leaderboard, FCB New York has raced to the provis ional top spot, landing in pole position in the World Creative Rankings at the halfway point of the year, thanks to three campaigns scoring strongly among award juries. The Drum singled out three FCB New York campaigns that contributed to the agency’s #1 global ranking: “Lap of Legends” and “Dreamcaster” for AB InBev’s Michelob ULTRA, and “Spreadbeats” for Spotify, following a stellar performance from FCB New York at The One Show – where they were crowned “Agency of the Year” – Cannes Lions, and D&AD. And the good news doesn’t stop there for our New York agency, as both “Lap of Legends” and “Spreadbeats” were named among The Drum’s “Best Ads of 2024 So Far.”
FCB Chicago climbed a staggering 159 places from 2023 and is now in 13th place in the agency rankings after a strong start to 2024. So far this year, the agency has won the Health & Wellness Grand Prix at Cannes Lions for “The Last Barf Bag” for Dramamine, and their “Banned Book Club” campaign for the Digital Public Library received the coveted Fusion Pencil and “Best of Non-Profit” at The One Show, along with four Gold, two Silver, and seven Bronze.
FCB Canada ranked #15 in the world, following their impressive first half of 2024. Their “Runner 321” campaign has received five Lions at Cannes; one of D&AD’s top prizes, the coveted White Pencil; and “Best of Creative Effectiveness” at The One Show, in addition to five Gold, three Silver, and three Bronze at the Show.
We want to congratulate our three clients who are ranked in The Drum’s Top 20 global brands. AB InBev currently sits at #1, with its Michelob ULTRA beer brand enjoying a strong showing in the awards so far, following the work from FCB New York; adidas ranked #8; and, for the first time ever, The Digital Library of America entered the rankings at #16, thanks, in part, to the very brave work they collaborated on with FCB Chicago.
And congratulations to our parent company, Interpublic Group (IPG), which ranked #2 in holding company standings.
